There were on shore on Long Island Sinqua, Grabou, Bato, Burnah, Kimbo, Fulewa, Gnaquoi, Kena, Berrie, Con: plenty more. These are all he remembers by name. Gave 2 guns, knife, and hat to Capt. Green. Burnah, Quato and Grabo had been up to the houses. Five white men came on shore. Capt. Green was one of them. Told Capt. Green he might take the vessel. Burnah talked with Capt. Green. I whistled. Black men ran up. White men got their guns. Then black men gave up knife. We were going to Sierra Leone. Told Capt. Green we wanted to go to Sierra Leone. Grabo and Quato carried two trunks ashore. Plenty men on shore. [Wanted] to go to Capt. Greens if he would carry them to Sierra Leone. Wanted him to go with them to Sierra Leone. Got plenty of water on board. not all they wanted to get. Three moons from Africa to Havana 10 nights in Havana 3 moons and a half from Havana We all came to Havana in same vessel, except the three little girls and Carli -- we first saw them in Havana. We sailed from Dumboko or Lomboko. The little girls are Mendi. Carli too from Africa. I came from Mendi to Lomboko, was taken on road. four men took me, not taken in war -- never sold myself. I met the others at Lomboko. I have one wife and 3 children. Don't know Capt. of Sch-. Man was killed -- knows Pepe and Pedro. Sesse steer vessel make sail -- make fire with box -- bought dogs with money -- Grabo & Bato took trunks ashore no money in trunks; clothes. First saw Pepe in Havana -- prison house. Pepe feel of me -- said "Fine" "fine". The man that brought us from Lomboko was with Pepe at that time. In vessel that brought us to Havana we were chained -- hand and feet together [Here Sinqua sat down on floor and held his hands together and showed how they were manacled.] On board the Sch- Amistad half eat -- half drink. The cook told us they carry us to some place and kill and eat us. We were beaten. Pepe told sailors to beat us. Pedro did not The Capt.and sailors whip them. Pepe did not whip. They whipped Kimbo, Sesse, Burnah. Pepe was present Kali went on shore (Long Island) Yahboi, Shuma, Faquamah, Baah, Dammah; Shule was not on shore.
