NUEVA YORK, Setiembre 17 de 1839.


MUY SENOR MIO: Acabo de tener el honor de recibir la carta de V. S. de 16 del actual, acusandome el recibo de mi note del 6, relativa a La Amistad; y me apresuro a avisarselo a V. S. pare su conocimiento y por tener gusto de reiterarle las seguridades de mi alta consideracion y personal aprecio.

NEW YORK, September 17,1839.


SIR: I have just had the honor to receive your letter of the 16th instant, acknowledging the receipt of my note of the 6th, relative to the Amistad, and I hasten to inform you of it; at the same time, repeating the assurances of my high consideration.
