The case of the Africans of the Amistad has been postponed till the first Tuesday
in January next, on account of the sickness of the interpreter, which rendered him
unable to attend. The prisoners were sent back to New Haven. Marshal Wilcox remarked
to us the other day, that in such a case, it was his intention to provide them with
thick clothing.
