THE AFRICANS.--The examination of witnesses continued during the whole of Thursday,
and the arguments of counsel were to commence yesterday. There was a good deal of
clashing in the testimony,--Antonio (the captain’s boy) swearing positively that
Jingua killed the captain, and other witnesses denying it. There was also clashing
on various other points. In the crowded state of our columns we do not deem it necessary
to go into details.
